Minced Meat Satay

  • Author: Linda Kurniadi

These bite-sized satays are going to change your life. Made with ground beef, these minced meat satays are packed with mouthwatering flavors. Perfect as an appetizer or main meal for parties or simple, every day.

  • 1 pound ground beef (I’m using Laura’s Lean ground beef)
  • 1 medium egg
  • 4 Kaffir lime leaves
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce, separate
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Processed ingredients:

  • 5 shallots
  • 34 cloves garlic
  • 1 candlenut
  • Salt, to taste

Peanut butter sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons creamy peanut sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • Salt, to taste

  • Peanut sauce: combine all ingredients in a bowl. Whisk in hot water until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Processed ingredients: combine all ingredients in a food processor until it turns to a smooth paste consistency.
  • Heat the oil in a wok. Add in the processed ingredients, lime leaves, soy sauce, and one tablespoon of sweet soy sauce. Cook for 3-5 minutes until everything blends together.
  • In a bowl, add in ground beef, egg, and processed ingredients. Mix everything. Take a spoonful of the ground beef mixture and shape it into a skewer. Grill over charcoal or regular grill until cooked through and serve with peanut sauce.
