Ingredients

  • 1- pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

For sauce

  • 1 tablespoon. sesame paste or sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut chicken thighs into small pieces for one bite.
  • Put all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and mix until smooth with a fork.
  • Dip the chicken pieces in starch.
  • Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil, put the prepared chicken in a single layer. Fry until golden brown over high heat.
  • Transfer the chicken to an auxiliary plate: place pepper flakes, pressed garlic, and grated ginger in the pan. Cook for half a minute.
  • Pour in the sauce and bring it to a boil. The mixture will noticeably thicken.  Add the chicken and stir vigorously so that each piece is soaked in the sauce. Heat the dish for a minute and serve immediately with the onion and sesame seeds.
