Be proud of your roots, feed your eyes, and listen to your tongues.
Have you ever wished to own a magical kitchen in your home, where delicious and healthy foods can be prepared instantly, without spending much effort in preparing them? Maybe you are working in the office with busy schedules and tight deadlines, or maybe you are a stay-at-home person tending to sick kids/parents, or others. We live in a busy world, where everything needs to be done instantly and time is a precious and limited commodity. For all of you busy people out there… I feel you.
My life has changed A LOT since I started working in a corporate office. After spending long hours in the office – up to 100 hours per week – I dreamed of the day that I could walk into my home after a busy day at work and smell dinner already cooking. I know, I know, it’s just my wishful thinking. But I tried to make it real, by picking up my cooking pans and whisking comfort foods, because after all the chaos (and drama) during the day, cooking is the only thing I enjoy most in a day’s work.
So I always look for something fresh, quick, and comforting after a hard day at the office. There are so many times when I wish I could just stay at home, put on my stretchy pants, and enjoy creating and eating good old homemade dishes while relaxing with my hubby. Because, although I am very grateful for all the things in my life, my work, my family, my busy schedule and all… one thing still stays the same: I really love to cook and share my cooking. Now, I just get to do it on a much broader spectrum… and I feel extremely lucky for that.
Cooking is not a genetically inherited skill. Just because your mom or your grandma is a good cook, doesn’t mean that you will be one. Cooking is something that you need to learn – just like other things in life. I am a self-taught cook and the recipes I set out to make are very simple. If you’re new to cooking, I’d like to help you get over the fear factor and bump up the fun factor, because, for me, cooking is enjoyable. You could tweak a recipe here and there and try out various ingredients without worrying that recipe police will come and run your way over.
So try it! Cook with a different approach and say goodbye to hectic weeknight dinner prep.
