Air fryer maple-candied spam is the easiest and tastiest way to enjoy spam. They are so delicious and great to serve as an appetizer, snack, or picnic food. Plus, they are easy to make and ready in just 15 minutes!
I like my Spam pan-fried until crispy but there are days when I avoid being in the kitchen for too long. Yesterday was one of those days when the temperature hit 100F. And when that happened, I called my best friend to help me. Air fryer. If you’re new here, I’m obsessed with my air fryer and have been using it to cook almost anything. Chicken drumsticks, corn on the cob, char siu, and so much more! Today is about air fryer spam. And to make it saucy, I turn it into maple-candied spam.
The ingredients
- Spam
- Maple syrup
- Gochujang
- Sesame oil
How to make air fryer maple-candied spam
- Preheat the air fryer to 400F
- Slice the spam into 8 pieces or use a spam slicer for an even cut. Evenly space out the sliced spam inside the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes, flipping halfway
- Meanwhile, stir together the sauce. Drizzle the sauce over the spam when they’re done cooking. Return to the air fryer and cook for 2 minutes at 400F
- Transfer the spam to a plate to cool slightly
What to serve maple-candied spam
Like most banchan, this air fryer spam goes well with rice (and kimchi). Or make it as a sandwich for a quick snack or picnic food. Another favorite is adding a fried egg, then wrapping both in nori seaweed. Low-carb and yet delicious!
Healthy substitutes for spam
In case you’re not a fan of spam, you can always opt-in for firm tofu or plant-based spam which is made with non-GMO soy, peas, shiitake mushrooms, and rice.
Storing air fryer spam
You can store cooked spam in an airtight container and freeze them in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Ingredients
- 1 12-ounce can spam sliced 1/4-inch thick
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon gochujang
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400F
