Loco moco is one of the most iconic Hawaiian foods, a loco moco is usually a belly bomb of a meal, but this version: Vegetarian Loco Moco is lighter, healthier… and delicious!
I think I could be a vegetarian if it were not for this loco moco.
I love Hawaiian food. Musubi. Saimin. Poke *gawd, this is making me drool*. And of course, loco moco.
What is loco moco?
In short, loco moco is Hawaiian comfort food that comes with a scoop of rice or more, beef patty, brown gravy, and fried eggs on top. It’s seriously comforting and addictive.
But since today is #MeatlessMonday, so let’s just cut right to it. The main idea here is that you eat a big plate of this loco moco with a less guilty feeling because it is meatless. But not all meatless are created equal. This is not my first time trying gardein products, and I must say I’m in love. This meatless in-n-out burger was one of the recipes using gardein products.
What do I like about this vegetarian loco moco?
It’s so easy to make. Thanks to gardein. You need to prepare your rice – either white rice or brown rice. Then make the sauce which can be done in a few minutes and while you make a sunny side up fried egg. Once that’s done, you can preheat the veggie patties or veggie burgers on a stovetop, griller, or even microwave. And oh, you can also replace the patties with a hamburger patty. Then you serve all together on a plate.
And since today is earth day, let’s set aside to reflect and consider just how amazing and important our earth is to us. Or take time and make commitments to do your part in preserving and nurturing our environment. For us, it includes growing a native garden and committing to recycling.
What are your Earth Day plans this year?
