Breakfast smoothies are the best way to start your day. Filled with fruit, chia seeds, almond milk, and a little hint of your green intake, these breakfast smoothies will keep you feeling satisfied till lunch.
I hope you are still sticking to your New Year’s resolution – to eat healthyish and be happy. If you are, then you will love these Breakfast Smoothies On-the-Go recipes. If you are not, then it’s time to get back to your track and join the fun.
I wake up very hungry every morning, so there really isn’t time for me to make a big elaborate weekend-style breakfast like this Miso Butter Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Luau Egg Benedict Waffle, or delicious Chocolate Coconut Pancakes. I like my first meal to take less than 5 minutes to prepare and refreshing. So, healthy breakfast smoothies are definitely a morning go-to on Simply Healthyish Recipes home. I love that I can pack so many easily digestible nutrients into a cup.
Green smoothies are great–I drink them almost every morning–but there’s also room for other breakfast smoothies. If I wake up with a mega sweet tooth or need an extra boost of energy I’ll make a breakfast smoothie with raw cacao powder or Medjool dates. Sometimes I want something slightly tart and tangy so I’ll go for a smoothie with fresh ripe pineapple or mangoes. Adding rolled oats or chia seeds are also a great way to add nutrients and a little thickness to your smoothie.
Today I am sharing not just one, two, but three breakfast smoothie recipes that you will love. They are just the perfect mix to kick-start your day and we have officially dubbed these bad boys.
We love having smoothie recipe ingredients on hand, so that whenever the smoothie mood strikes, we’re ready. One of the easiest ways to prep for this ahead of time is to cut up and freeze your favorite fruit in meal prep containers or Ziplocs so you have it on hand when you want to make a smoothie. That way, you can grab already sliced fruit from the freezer when you need it and plop it right in your blender. And don’t forget to invest in a high-quality blender (we LOVE our Nutribullet and Vitamix).

I don’t know why I didn’t make many smoothies last year! My kids love them. I could put a bowl of spinach in it, and as long as it is somewhat fruity they love it. This year I will try harder. This fruit, chia seeds, almond milk and a little hint of your green smoothie sounds like a great start.

I’m going to give this smoothie a try in hopes that my kids will fall in love with them. I have a hard time with them eating a good breakfast and this might be the perfect trick to get some good nutrients in them before they had to school. Thanks for sharing!
