These Chocolate Peppermint Cookies are a delicious, festive holiday treat. Dark and white chocolate chips, peppermint oil, and all the chewy goodness of a cookie – you can’t miss this irresistible holiday treat on your cookie tray!

Hello hello! Welcome to my favorite month! I am hustling and bustling around here trying to shoot as many recipes as I can while entertaining a two months old baby. Not an easy job, but I don’t mind as long as it involves cookies.
Speaking of which, I have a list of sweet treats for the whole month of December. But first, chocolate peppermint cookies. I think you’re really going to like it 🙂

The ingredients
- Flour. I use all-purpose flour for this recipe
- Brown sugar and that’s the only sugar for this recipe
- Butter. Always use unsalted butter unless it is mentioned in the recipe
- Egg. Always use large size
- Baking powder, salt, cocoa powder
- Chocolate. I use a combination of dark chocolate chips and white chocolate
- Peppermint oil or extract (and not peppermint flavor) as the star of these chocolate peppermint cookies
With darker cookies like these, it is hard to tell when they are done; however, you’ll know when the tops are crackly and the cookies are an even circle cookie shape. Avoid leaving them in the oven for too long so they don’t get harden.

How to store chocolate peppermint cookies
Allow the cookies to cool completely and store them in an airtight container for 7 days. If you leave these cookies at room temperature, you can microwave it for 5-10 seconds when you crave a bite.
Other cookies to try:
- Snickerdoodle Bars – These simple and delicious homemade Snickerdoodle Bars are your favorite cookie in bar form! They are soft, tender with a hint of vanilla and lots of cinnamon. The best part is no chill time necessary!
- Dark Chocolate Bark Thins – Dark chocolate bark thins is one of the easiest and quickest treats to make with chocolate. The possibilities are practically endless! Make them for yourself (definitely do this), or make them as gifts for family & friends.
- White Chocolate and Lavender Madeleines – These precious cookies are sure to turn your after-dinner tea into a meal of its own.
If you have been on the hunt for a good chocolate peppermint cookie, this one is pretty darn good and they are the perfect Christmas dessert for a cookie swap, Christmas Eve, or just when you feel like doing some Holiday baking.
