A summer ice cream party! See how you too can turn ordinary ice cream into this ice cream roll with additional toppings on top!
What’s the best part of Summer? Endless ice cream treats! Okay, that, BBQ, and the sunshine too. I’ve been out in the sun and had my fair share of ice cream lately. That’s pretty much your comfort food when the weather hits triple digits. Or am I the only one who does that here?
There is something special about Summer this year. I had friends come, who had spent the Summer with me. It felt like the old high school days when we had nothing to worry about except being silly. It was a total blast, especially when I made these ice cream sundae bars at a picnic. Sundae bar with ice cream roll – how fun can it be?
So, ice cream roll. So, super cute! So, what is it?
We found out about this ice cream roll when we traveled to Thailand a couple of years ago. As a lover of ice cream, the hubs could not stand by and not give a try to the hype of the ice cream roll. It was pretty much a fun twist of your favorite ice cream made right in front of you. Think of a cross between Cold Stone and a creperie. Yup! Instead of using an ice cream maker, I used this “ICEROLL” plate. It’s an ice cream roll pan that you can buy online and works well with your basic ice cream recipe. Fun fact: it is faster than making regular ice cream.
Making your sundae bar is not that hard. The key is the varieties of toppings that I got from Smart & Final. Smart & Final carries everything you need for Summer & Celebrations, and it’s perfect when you cook for families since their products are fresh and you don’t need to break your wallet to have your Summer celebration. I mean…check out these sprinkles are a variety of toppings. Aren’t this fun?
And this Summer, Smart & Final is celebrating it with a “So Good Together” photo contest. Simply snap a pic during your next summer gathering and post it with the hashtag-#sogoodtogethercontest for a chance to win $2,500 in SmartCash gift cards. The picture with the most votes at the end of the contest will be crowned the winner. So hurry…and remember when I scream, you scream, the whole internet screams for ICE CREEEEAM!

I’ve never considered making roll up ice cream at home. That’s pretty neat! And I love how you can make it an “adult” ice cream. I’ve never had that before, but seems like a great idea to try!
