Dark Chocolate Covered Almond Stuffed Dates. What could be more luscious than almond stuffed into dates? Only one thing; dates & almonds dipped in dark chocolate! This easy recipe creates one of a kind treat that will appeal to just about anyone!
Dark Chocolate Covered Almond Stuffed Dates. Say it five times. Faster.
There is something about dates that makes me think about decadence. They are so tasty on their own and have a range of health benefits. They are high in protein and many essential nutrients. Dates have antioxidant properties and are packed with fiber too. As the old saying goes, great things come in small packages! But, asides from all of the great things dates have to offer nutritionally, they are completely delicious!
This recipe takes something as simple and tasty as a date and brings the dried fruit to a whole new level. Stuffing an almond (or two if the date size is big) inside is easy. The crunch of the nut compliments the fruit beautifully. While I used almonds in this recipe, you could use hazelnuts, pecans, or the always amazing macadamia nut if you prefer. This combination would make for a great snack for anyone, but kids aren’t going to jump at this snack without a little pizzazz. Dipping these in chocolate is the obvious solution. Who could resist?

Toppings for chocolate-covered stuffed dates
To make these addictive stuffed dates more fun, you can add shredded coconut, chocolate shavings, matcha powder, a drizzle of Nutella, or whatever you can think of, including a pinch of sea salt!
Do I need to use coconut oil?
Coconut oil helps the chocolate harden and gives a nice shiny gloss.
I don’t have almonds
Substitute with peanut butter! Creamy or crunchy works well, although I personally enjoy crunchy nut butter.
Storing
Truthfully, it’s hard to keep these stuffed dates in the fridge for too long because they’re so good. However, they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
Can I freeze them?
Sadly no, but you will need these chocolate-covered dates anytime so no need to freeze them.
