I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #LaurasLean campaign, sponsored by Laura’s Lean. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
Bulgogi is one of my favorite recipes when I crave something comforting, which happens often. However, bulgogi can takes time to make because you need to marinate the thinly sliced meat for at least 30 minutes so the beef can soak up the most epic marinade. And that’s how I switch to ground beef for a faster meal.
Ground beef can be done in seconds, and you don’t need to worry about marinating the meat, although it’s okay to do so. The sauce itself is sweet and savory with a garlicky and gingery punch. You sure don’t want to miss this sauce.
How do you make Easy Ground Beef Bulgogi?
- Add garlic and onion to a pan over medium-high heat coated with vegetable oil. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Add in the ground beef, breaking it into crumbles until no longer pink. Keep cooking until there’s no moisture, and everything is fully cooked for about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- In a small bowl, whisk brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the ground beef and let simmer for another 2 minutes.
- When all the moisture from the beef is gone, toss in chopped green onions. Turn off the heat. Add sesame seeds and toss. You can also add red pepper flakes on top.
