No-bake Chocolate Brownie pudding. Chocolate lovers – this one is for you, and it will NOT let you down! This no-Bake Chocolate Brownie Pudding is literally what your dreams are made of – easy to make, can be prepped in under ten minutes, and only require five ingredients!
Sometimes the best food in life is the simplest.
Like this bread + agar agar + chocolate milk + more chocolate. And this makes the simplest and the best kind of dessert, like pots de creme au chocolate.
No baking, no oven, and easy clean-up. And on top of it all, this chocolatey goodness of pudding only requires five ingredients and 10 minutes of your time. So mom, don’t forget to add this recipe to your must make back-to-school recipes.
Since we’re approaching the end of summertime, I’ve been stuffing my face copiously with this no-bake brownie pudding. I know you guys are probably on diets or keeping your beach body, and I respect that, but with unpredictable Bay Area weather, you need at least a slice of this pudding. So, YOU ARE WELCOME.
As mentioned above, one of the ingredients of this recipe is agar agar, which happens to be the main ingredient.
What is agar agar?
Agar or agar-agar is a jelly-like substance, obtained from red algae. It has a powdery texture and comes in small packages which you can find in major grocery stores.
What makes this a brownie agar agar?
Unlike any pudding recipe, I am adding slices of bread to this, and that what makes the texture a bit dense compared to regular pudding recipe. But the good news is you don’t need your baking pan or baking tools to make this recipe. So put that eggs and sugar back to their place, but keep that cocoa powder.
What variations can I make?
Today’s recipe is super-exciting because it’s flexible, so it yields itself to over a million variations. Okay, that sounds too much, but you need to be creative. Well, this is not a baking dish, so skip that ice cream. Unless you’re making a lava cake, then vanilla ice cream is your BFF. But you can turn this into a strawberry pudding by adding fresh strawberries blend with regular milk or a banana pudding by adding banana to your milk. You can also add almonds, cherry slices, and so much more.
What kind of bread can I use?
I am using white wide slices from Little Northern Bakehouse. What I like the most about this brand is their dedication to making healthier, gluten-free bread without sacrificing the taste or texture with a line-up of plant-based, non-GMO products. In case you do not know, many of their products are 100% plant-based and vegan, appealing to a wide variety of diets and food preferences. And you can easily spot them in most grocery stores — easy peasy.
