Yep, it’s a real thing, y’all. Beeramisu. Best Stout Beer Tiramisu instead of rum. Plus, you only need six main ingredients to make the best no-bake dessert! It has a unique taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture and is indispensable for dessert pleasures.
Although I’ve never been a big fan of beer, I do have a few exceptions. Like stout beer hot chocolate and beerberry pancakes. So, if you’re looking for a last-minute dessert with minimal ingredients, you come to the right place. Beer Tiramisu or what people call it Beeramisu is a tiramisu but with beer as the main ingredient instead of rum. And this one has dark and stronger compared to regular beer since it uses stout beer. However, I can assure you this is the best beeramisu recipe you need to try and it only takes six ingredients to make.
The ingredients
This Italian classic no-bake dessert is so simple and you will need:
- Stout beer. I recommend using double chocolate stout which makes this tiramisu extra dark chocolatey
- Ladyfinger cookies or you can substitute with sponge cake, pound cake, or panettone
- Egg yolks. Tiramisu is often prepared using raw egg yolks; hence, always use pasteurized eggs
- Granulated sugar to add sweetness to this dessert
- Mascarpone. I strongly recommend using mascarpone cheese, but you can substitute with Crème Fraîche
- Cocoa powder for topping
How to make beer tiramisu
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until it turns soft peak. Add in mascarpone cheese and continue whisking on medium until smooth.
- Transfer stout beer in a shallow dish. Place six quartered ladyfingers in the stout mixture until soaked, turning as needed. Transfer hald of soaked ladyfingers to a glass or ramekin. Spoon 1/4 cup of the mascarpone mixture, then repeat another layer until the glass or ramekin is filled completely with the mascarpone mixture as the top layer. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Just before serving, place cocoa powder in a fine-mesh sieve and shake a light dusting over the mascarpone mixture
Not a fan of raw eggs?
If you’re not a fan of raw eggs, you can use a water bath technique to cook the yolks.
Should I reduce stout beer
It depends on the stout beer. Some stouts get bitterness from certain specialty grains like roasted barley, but this is less common. However, when stout beer is reduced, it can be reduced to syrup and makes a good glaze for meat.
I purposely don’t reduce double chocolate stout beer in this recipe since it makes a good combination of chocolatey, bitter-y, and sweet to this beer tiramisu.
Can you eat beeramisu right away?
Like most desserts, this will need to sit for about two hours before you can eat it and it tastes even better overnight. Although I take a scoop as soon as I’m done assembling one because I can’t resist how good it is.
Storing
Leftovers stout beer tiramisu should be refrigerated immediately in an airtight container and will last 4 days.
…and now jump to this fun announcement.
I’m so excited to participate in this Valentine’s event (again). This is the sixth year of our event and we want to continue to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S. There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. The National Cancer Institute’s budget for childhood cancer is less than 4%. It’s such a small number and that’s why I got involved.
And with the ongoing pandemic, children are still being diagnosed with cancer. It’s imperative that we raise awareness and continue to raise funds to fund the ongoing pediatric cancer research!
Help us make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer!
Our goal is to raise at least $3000. Because these three companies: OXO, Mediavine, and Dixie Crystals have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000! That means when we raise $1, it turns into $4!
Thank you to so many of you who have already donated, please help us reach our goal so we can get the full matching donations and help us make an even huge difference!
