This refreshing lilikoi butter (passion fruit butter) reminds me of Hawaii. It’s sweet yet tart and creamy. Bring a taste of aloha to your table or pair this butter with brioche, croissant waffles, or scones!
When life gives you passion fruit, make this passion fruit butter or lilikoi butter as some people call this. If you never tried lilikoi before, they are tart but sweet at the same time. Hence, they make a good addition to summer weather for salad, ice tea, or even ice cream.
The ingredients
Similar to this lemon curd, the ingredients to make lilikoi butter is so easy.
- Lilikoi or passion fruit. I use fresh fruits and not juice or concentrate
- Butter. Unsalted butter at either room temperature or cold always works
- Egg. Only need the yolk part
- Sugar. Granulated sugar for this recipe

Often, you can get these from Whole Foods, The Fruit Guys, or Walmart. However, they are also available on Amazon or Weee! Grocery Delivery.
How to find good lilikoi fruits

Storing lilikoi fruits
Lilikoi can last for 2 weeks at room temperature.
Can you eat lilikoi seeds
Yes, the seeds are edible and are high in magnesium. They taste crunchy and sweet. The rind tastes bitter and is not edible.
